The end of August past without fanfare and we are already at Labor Day weekend. Just as Memorial Day is the ceremonial beginning of Summer, Labor Day is thought to distinguish the end. Though that is the case, the heat remains. Enjoy the restful weekend indoors or floating in a lake or backyard pool. Treat yourself some of those umbrellas for your iced tea as you pass the time on the horribly hot days. Most importantly, get the rest you have earned. Shaping the lives of students is hard work but it is exhilarating when you find out from a student that you made the difference. Have a great weekend…Go Pups! Off to a Great Start
We are off to a great start! It is important for us all to remember the ‘why’ of our profession. We believe all students can learn at high levels and we believe it is because of what we do. Parents send us their best and they expect our best in return. Take some time to build the relationships with your students. The return on the investment will be amazing! I wish you all a great year…Go Pups! (cue: Pink Floyd – Another Brick in the Wall)

Remember to Count
Well here we go. Only 4 days remaining and the heat is truly on for all of us. Busy is the operative word and at times, things just get crazy. More than ever, we should remember to stop, count to ten, and breathe. The end of the year is very stressful for everyone: Teachers, Students, Staff, and Parents. Everyone has their stress points. That is why it is so important to support each other during this final push. Encourage a student along the way, the words you deliver just may be the motivation that gets them through. Enjoy your Memorial Day weekend. See you Tuesday for the final push. Go Pups! (cue: Europe – The Final Countdown)
